Education
The Fort Defiance Chapter, NSDAR, is passionate about educating America’s youth and supports a variety of different programs, and awards to help further this goal.
The DAR Good Citizen Award is presented from our chapter to a high school student who exhibits dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism within the local school system. This award seeks out promising young leaders, and hopefully shines on the future.
The NSDAR sponsors six schools across the nation. These have always been an important project to the Fort Defiance Chapter, NSDAR. Box Tops and other donations are collected each year and sent to all schools. The NSDAR and Ohio State Society host tours every three years. One of our members participated in the 2019 DAR School Bus Tour.
Constitution Week is celebrating every year by placing a display at our local library. The chapter also distributes Constitution kits, consisting of a mini color book, flag, crayons, pencil, stickers, colored paper and work sheets to a local elementary classroom.
The chapter also supports DAR Adopt a Classroom by helping out different ways in the classroom: volunteer reader, making copies, stapling papers, donating supplies, and this year a new addition will be the donation of masks. "Learn more about DAR and how we support education"
